Twists for Dogs made with blueberries and carrots. A healthy homemade treat that is soft, colorful, and perfect for happy snacking.
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Oat flour | 1 cup divided (½ cup for each dough) |
| Blueberries (fresh or frozen) | ½ cup |
| Cooked carrots (mashed or pureed) | ½ cup |
| Egg | 1 large (divided between doughs) |
| Coconut oil (optional) | 1 tablespoon |
| Cinnamon (optional) | ¼ teaspoon |
| Water | Splash, as needed |
Cook your carrots until soft. Mash or blend them into a smooth puree.
If using frozen blueberries, allow them to thaw slightly before blending into a puree.
In a bowl, combine ½ cup oat flour, carrot puree, and half of the egg. Mix until the orange dough comes together.
In a second bowl, combine ½ cup oat flour, blueberry puree, and the remaining egg to form the purple dough.
Add a splash of water to either dough if it feels dry. The texture should be soft and easy to roll.
Roll each dough into small strips about six inches long.
Twist one orange strip with one purple strip. Press the ends gently so they stay together.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place each twist on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
Let the twists cool completely before serving to your dog.
