This Peanut Butter and Bacon Dog Cake is a soft, yummy homemade treat made with oat flour, applesauce, and banana. Safe, simple, and perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Oat flour 1 cup Gentle on digestion
Natural peanut butter 1/4 cup Must be xylitol-free
Plain unsweetened applesauce 1/4 cup Adds moisture
Egg 1 Helps bind batter
Cooked, unsalted bacon 2 slices Trim fat, chop small
Ripe banana (optional) 1 Adds moisture and sweetness
Baking powder 1/2 tsp Light rise
Water 1–2 tbsp Adjust as needed

Instructions

1. Preheat

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a small pan or silicone mold.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients

Stir together 1 cup oat flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder until even.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients

Mash the banana if using. Add peanut butter, applesauce, and the egg. Stir until smooth and creamy.

4. Combine Bowls

Pour the wet mix into the dry bowl. Stir gently. Add 1–2 tablespoons of water if the batter feels too thick.

5. Fold In Bacon

Fold in the chopped bacon pieces so they stay spread throughout the batter.

6. Bake

Spoon the batter into your pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

7. Cool

 

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes. Move it to a rack and cool fully before serving.
