| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lean ground turkey (93% lean) | 1 lb |
| Cooked brown rice, cooled | 1 cup |
| Egg | 1 large |
| Shredded carrots | 1/2 cup |
| Chopped spinach | 1/2 cup |
| Plain unsweetened applesauce | 1/4 cup |
| Ground flaxseed | 1 tbsp |
| Turmeric (optional) | 1/2 tsp |
| Olive oil | 1 tbsp |
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment or lightly oil it so the loaf lifts out cleanly.
In a large bowl, mix turkey, rice, egg, carrots, spinach, applesauce, flaxseed, turmeric, and olive oil. Keep the mixing gentle so the loaf stays tender.
Press the mixture firmly into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 45–55 minutes, until the center reaches 165°F (safe for dogs).
Cool fully before slicing to help the loaf hold together.
Serve with warm water or low-sodium bone broth for extra moisture.
Variations:
Swap brown rice for quinoa or oats
Grain-free: use mashed sweet potato
Freeze slices between parchment for easy reheating
