Ingredients

Ingredient Amount Notes
Whole wheat flour 2 cups Oat flour works too
Peanut butter 1/2 cup Must be xylitol-free
Carob powder 1/2 cup Dog-safe “chocolate” flavor
Unsweetened applesauce 1/2 cup Moisture booster
Egg 1 Helps bind everything
Water 1/4 cup Add more if needed
Honey 1 tbsp Optional sweetness

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, whisk the whole wheat flour and carob powder until blended.

  3. In another bowl, mix the peanut butter, applesauce, egg, water, and honey until smooth.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.

  5. Dust your counter with a little flour and roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.

  6. Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes like bones or paws.

  7. Place treats on a lined baking sheet with a little space between them.

  8. Bake for about 15 minutes or until edges are firm and lightly crisp.

  9. Cool the treats completely before serving.
